The housemates have an epiphany...
A couple of hours ago Darnell was elected Head of House, and the housemates were in a celebratory mood. Little did they know the twist Big Brother had in store for them...
The housemates were sitting in the corner of the Task Room, which was covered in the remnants of Rebecca and Mohamed's food, when Big Brother asked them to gather around the table. The food-fighters didn't mind too much, but the housemates who hadn't been involved weren't too happy about sitting on the mucky chairs.
"Ew, this is gross!" whinged Sara, while Michael sat down only to discover his chair was covered in milk.
"Darnell, on the red cushion is an envelope containing instructions," announced Big Brother. "As Head of House, you must instruct one housemate to take the envelope, open it, and read the instructions aloud to the group."
Darnell gave this job to Rex, who begrudgingly opened the sticky envelope. "What is it covered in?" he demanded, before going wide-eyed as he read the instructions.
"Oh my God...Head of House: with great power comes great responsibility. The Big Brother House has been divided into Heaven and Hell. Head of House, your first duty is to choose six housemates to live in Heaven with you. The rest of the housemates will GO TO HELL!" concluded Rex dramatically.
Most of the housemates cheered and laughed, while Luke turned to Michael and said quietly, "Welcome to B-block, Mikey."
Rex continued with Big Brother's instructions. "Only Heavenly housemates will have access to the Luxury Bedroom and Bathroom. Only Heavenly housemates will be permitted to exchange or reap the benefits of tokens. Only housemates from Hell will have access to the other Bedroom and the shower in the Garden."
There was a gasp from the group. Rex then explained that the housemates from Hell will be required to prepare all meals and drinks for the heavenly housemates, who will not have access to the Kitchen.
As the news sank in, Belinda turned to Darnell. "I told you! I said you'd have to make some nasty choices."
"Oh, this is not a nasty choice," replied Darnell immediately. "This is straightforward."
And with no further ado, the Head of House chose Dale, Rex, Mohamed, Kathreya, Rachel and Maysoon to join him in Heaven.
"We're in Hell!" shrieked Rebecca.
Rebecca, you ain't seen nothing yet...

With rosettes at the ready, and their nerves less than steady, it was all go for our election candidates Dale, Luke and Darnell, as Big Brother welcomed them to the "first ever Head Of House election." Dale was first up with his speech. "Right guys," he began, "we're all a family and we've all got to listen to work together, to get individual opinions across."
He suggested the whole House eat halal meat, before admitting, "I'm getting dead nervous now!" Luke, a politics student, was understandably more cool, calm and collected. "Housemates, friends," he began, "I have now evicted the basic budget. This week, we will not - we will not - we will NOT go back to basics! It's simple - it's like two plus two. We should choose the best people for the best Task."
Lastly, Darnell weighed in with a hard-hitting speech. "Housemates," he told the group sombrely, "the House is in a shambles, straight-up. Halfway since we've got here, we've had two removals, numerous housemates in tears. It is broke, it does need to be fixed. And as far as back to basics goes, look around. Have you looked in the fridge lately?" Wow - we've never heard Gordon Brown asking that!

They've been leading up to it for a while. The jovial, boob-happy girl from Coventry, the opinionated teetotaller from Wigan - will or won't Rebecca and Luke get it on, or is their friendship more pure, more platonic? After last night, you can forget platonic.
After a heavy night on the grog, the pair finally managed a snog. And then another one. And another.
Rebecca had drunk quite a lot of alcohol, so she asked Luke to kiss her. Initially it was a tender peck. Then a bit of a kiss. Then a bit of lingering smooch. Come on, you two.
Cuddled up in bed, Rebecca whispered to Luke, "You want to kiss me."
"Shut up," the embarrassed lad shot back. "You're drunk."
Rebecca pulled off the covers to discover that Luke was definitely up for it.
"You still wanna kiss me," she teased. "I dare you to kiss me."
"Go to sleep," Luke begged. But then he smiled, and the lass smiled back.
"You better not kiss me," he joked - before moving in to kiss Rebecca and the pair had their first tender snog.
After some furtive tomfoolery under the duvet, the pair eventually settled down to sleep. But across the room, Lisa wasn't so convinced by the first flourishings of love, whispering to Mario a more cynical, eviction-related reason why the two were getting it on. We shall never know.
But whatever happened, looks like wannabe-MP Luke has now experienced his first big election.

I’m don’t understand why all the housemate are so mean to Kat. If Jen cries they rally round, if Kat cries she’s being silly.
Poor sausage, why do they somehow think she’s this evil manipulative woman? I think she probably is just a bit sensitive. I wonder if it’s just the fact they thought because she shouted about cookie love she was just a bit stupid and when she proved she wasn’t dim it freaked them out and they had to assume she was in someway nasty. The fools.You may have noticed I’ve been skirting around the Rachel issue a bit. That’s because I think I too would find her constant chirpiness annoying. However, I don’t want to start slagging someone off for being too nice. Meanwhile, Luke becomes more and more of a little worm [he also shares the same muscle tone], by running to Jen to tell her that Kat said she would take her place in jail if she got sent there. Which when you write it down actually sounds nice and not the way Luke twisted it. I don’t get why Jen is so confused as to why people don’t like her? Something to do with bitching about people constantly perhaps Jen?Bex just seems to be getting even worse. She’s just becoming nasty, which is a real shame, but I suppose it must have always been there beneath the surface. I hope Rex stays on Friday just to annoy her. I’m also a little concerned about Mikey’s state of mind. Not only does he only seem to be able to shout in a monotone voice in the diary room, but now he is shaving his eyebrows off, which is definitely not a good look. Then again, he’s also chosen Mario as his best mate in the house so his taste has always been, shall we say, dubious.

(The White One makes a brief cameo here, but she is sorely missed.)

Critics aren't the only ones fawning over the new Batman movie!
Director Kevin Smith just saw the film and he raved about it on his blog.

It's the "Godfather II" of comic book films and three times more earnest than "Batman Begins" (and fuck, was that an earnest film). Easily the most adult comic book film ever made. Heath Ledger didn't so much give a performance as he disappeared completely into the role; I know I'm not the first to suggest this, but he'll likely get at least an Oscar nod (if not the win) for Best Supporting Actor. Fucking flick's nearly three hours long and only leaves you wanting more (in a great way). I can't imagine anyone being disappointed by it. Nolan and crew have created something close to a masterpiece."
